I love cool and unique things. Here, I found some pictures of super cool aquariums. The reason why it struck a chord with me is because today at school, it was parents day. So daddy went to school with Vanessa to play some games with her, do some art, participate in some of the activities, watch her sing and have lunch. One such activities was a discussion about cats and daddy told mommy that EVERYONE pretty much said they own a cat (or even two). Eh-hem. Been there, done that …

I’ve recently come across this site called ModernMom that is amazing. It basically has all the things you need to know to be a modern mom (just like me!). Plus they have commentaries and “blogs” from Brooke Burke AND Denise Richards - both of whom I am not HUGE fans, but they are celebrities and mothers and do have some good input.
There are many articles about children, husbands, diets, careers - everything for the modern day mother (even working mother). It’s like cosmopolitan for mothers, but the articles are short …

WHOA - talk about shock value, but who would have thought that the lead value in purses were so high? This is mainly in purses that are PVC based or plastic. This is an interesting read though - and would be more interesting if people are able to BAN over-lead purses from being imported!

AH-hahaaha, the stuff people come up with! One interesting health article I came across today - if only shoes could really help you snip off 1-2 inches off our derrieres! However, I can scientifically see how the concept is sound - similiar to walking around in the sand, but theoretical and realistic are always 2 different things. Maybe when the fad fades, I may go “try” on a pair. I now often wear runners on weekends with the kids because it helps absorb impact to an aging (and damaged knee …

It’s funny how kids can have so much fun while singing and moving at the same time. Victoria and Vanessa LOVE to play “ring around the rosy” - especially with more adults because they end up swinging from their arms with their legs off the ground. Kids - especially babies love “Incy Wincy Spiders” when you do it for them. Even my youngest, Victoria at 1.5 years still loves it because I swing her arms wide and high and she just laughs when I do. Of course, it also helps …

For those who read Chinese, it means happy. Wouldn’t it be cool? Well, something interesting at least. Internet addresses are taking a change for the better and this means by introducing non-latin based characters into domain names. They have been testing this for 2 years since its approval in 2008! Wow, what a change indeed.
Although this means that local language site will probably be restricted to a specific set of users - I certainly can’t type arabic and even the Chinese is minimalistic, but it will probably increase local readership. …

Great article written by Mish on the US economy. Although I haven’t been keeping up as much with US economic news of late, this pretty much sums up all the funny stuff going on in the past year. I’m just glad I’m not a US taxpayer.

LOL - Vancouver, Canada tied for #4 spot, Toronto, Canada came in at spot #15 with Ottawa, Canada coming in at #16 & Montreal, Canada getting #22 - maybe we should move back to Toronto afterall….food for thought. The only Asian location was Singapore at like #30! There were a total of 5 Canadian cities and 0 Chinese cities. Am I living in the right country? The results are based on a quality of living survey. Yah, working your butt off in Asia 12-hours a day can really kill your quality …

Most of the items listed here appear to be from American based food chains. I’m sad to see Taco Bell there, but how could it not be? And ALL of the foods come from fast food establishments - which of course could not be healthy food. It’s not wonder that 1 in 4 American children are obese and obesity itself is becoming a problem. I am curious to see the WORLD’s fattiest foods rather than an American view, but you can’t win them all. Nonetheless, a very interesting article to …

I love positive stories in the news. All too often, we are bombarded by death, politics and criminals that something positive making it to the headlines is not common. Well, today we have something to celebrate. This piece of news is a remarkable story about an African boy who was forced to drop out of school for lack of funding and through perserverence and determination, brought power and water to his home and village.
Just imagine. For someone who had so little, he created so much. It really does go to …
