Pram/Stroller Charges For Hong Kong Taxis

Should prams/strollers be categorized under the “no-charge” fare for Taxis in Hong Kong?  YOU BET!
I sometimes do get charged for putting my stroller in the trunk of taxis.  For a $18 HKD cab fare, they will charge me $5 HKD.  Unbelievable!  That is 22% of the total cost of travel - which is absurb.  My sister recently got charged for putting her stroller in the back of the taxi as well and you know me and my family (if you follow our blogs) - we are rather outspoken and verbal …

Change Is My Middle Name

I am always about change. Ironically enough, change management is one of my key focus at work right now - so what better time to bring about change? When I was younger, I would rearrange my room at least once every year. It’s the excitement of having newness that makes life interesting. I don’t change everything. I mean, I don’t have my husband on rotation or my children, but things that spice up life - do just that. I have actually been looking for a magazine type blog layout for …

Part 1 is here.
So someone found ME while searching for “Matt Mullenweg” in Hong Kong and forwarded me this information.  It’s a mixer with Matt Mullenweg - LIVE in Hong Kong!  I mean, in the flesh.  OK, so it may not be a big deal to everyone, but for those who blog and those who blog on Wordpress, it’s a big deal.  This guy CREATED the platform which supports your blog!  And it’s completely free!  The blog platform I mean, not the event.
Check it out:  Web Wednesday - Social Mixer …

If your bra is riding up your back, the straps are biting into you, the wires are extremely noticeable or you’re super conscious of your bra, chances are that you’re wearing the wrong size!
Due to fluctuations in weight, pregnancies, whatever, you should be re-checking that your bra fits every 6 months.  And the math is that 85% of women aren’t wearing the correct bra size!  YIKES.  To elaborate, bra fitting isn’t a mathematical formula.  And because of variances in the industry, companies don’t always follow standardized methods of creating bras.  …

HELP!!  I’m looking for a fashionable IPhone wallet or purse.  Most of the products available today are literally, IPhone wallets that are UGLY and FUNCTIONAL.  Well, why can’t stuff for geeks be fashionable too?  Hmm, makes you think maybe there is a market for this.  Anyways, if anyone comes across one, can you please pass it along?  My only option right now is to check out the Coach Wristlets - which I have yet to do, but I’m having high hopes that they will fit my IPhone.  The problem is …

I was pretty thrilled when I obtained my PMP status.  I deserved it.  After working so many years and hours on projects after projects, it was time to get some official designation that represented my contribution to the working world.  That was in early 2006 and my designation is up for renewal come early 2010.   So now the great question - Should I renew my PMP designation?
Having a PMP designation is great for numerous reasons:

Many jobs actually REQUIRE or PREFER a PMP designated individual if project work is involved
It’s proof …

As a mother of 2, a working career woman, a wife, a sister, a daughter (and daughter-in-law) and friend - you can see how limited my time is.  Therefore, it’s critical that everything I do in my approach to working (whether for myself or for an organization) is “smart” and “hard”.  Although I usually try to approach it a smart way first.  Here is my approach to working smart:

Plan Plan Plan
Balance
Get Organized
Focus
Clear & Concise Communication

Plan Plan Plan
Part of my time is actually spent planning.  I plan in the shower, while drifting …

Cool!  I have been searching for one of these ever since I saw a girl in Central swinging one on her wrist during lunch.  It’s super cute, compact, comes in fancy colours and hangs on your wrist, thus keeping you relatively hands free.  I currently carry a rather large Gucci wallet and it sure as hell doesn’t have a strap on it, so sometimes when I go out to lunch, I wonder - should I bring my whole purse or just my wallet?  You can see my dilemma.  But now, …

Green with jealousy.  That must be it.
Well, I’m writing this article as a supplement to my hoard of domestic helper articles.  It’s really to give a break-down analysis of how I overcame and am still overcoming the green bug.  Everyone has jealousy on different degrees and everyone is (un)comfortable in different ways.  Some people highly enjoy (or have no choice with) having their DH’s very involved in their children’s lives, while others turn green and use criticism as rationale.  I don’t say my methods are correct, nor do I endorse …
