I’ve recently come across this site called ModernMom that is amazing.  It basically has all the things you need to know to be a modern mom (just like me!).  Plus they have commentaries and “blogs” from Brooke Burke AND Denise Richards - both of whom I am not HUGE fans, but they are celebrities and mothers and do have some good input.
There are many articles about children, husbands, diets, careers - everything for the modern day mother (even working mother).  It’s like cosmopolitan for mothers, but the articles are short …

I Renewed My PMP Certification!

I finally renewed my PMP certification TODAY - given that it was to expire in 3 days.  Yah, talk about last minute.  To be fair, the collection of PDUs (60 to be exact for PMP renewal as of post date) was not as difficult as I thought it would be.
My original post on “Should I Maintain My PMP?” prompted quick action on my part to collectively think about how I wanted to proceed.  That only gave me 1 year to collect 60 PDUs!  And as of March 6, I had …

The Art of Sandwiches

I am finally at a place in my life where my children are old enough to eat sandwiches and I can actually be creative enough to make something special for them.  I am still learning the art of sandwiches, but I’d say my first attempt is pretty good.  I just need to try to get my daughter to eat more than just a ham sandwich or nutella sandwich (as that is all she requests these days).

Some tips on making cool sandwiches for your kids:

Re-use as many of the cut off …

Children’s Dentist Visit

I finally managed to get my kids to go to the dentist and boy was it a great experience (both learning and outcome).  I took 3 kids with me:

4 year old Vanessa - success
3 year old Natalie - brief peek
2 year old Victoria - brief peek

It is recommended to start your kids seeing the dentist as young as 2, but it’s not always easy at that age to get them to comply.  However, I might add that it builds a healthy routine and understanding of who the dentist is and …

Low Maintenance Nail Care For Professional Mothers

I’m writing this article as I sit in a dilemma about what to do with my nails.  They’re unpainted, but well kept and kept as short as possible (I cut them about once a week because I can’t stand them to be any longer).  On the flip side though, I sometimes do like getting manicures or having painted nails, but with a busy schedule of kids, work and no time to maintain it, I’m debating about trying gel nails.  However, having done some research on-line, I’ve decided, not yet and …

Bianca, We Love You!

An article about Bianca in The Whig - “Vibrant woman loved to help people”
A very close cousin of mine just passed away a few days ago.  It was and still is a shock and tragedy because she was killed in a car accident half way around the world in Australia.  The thing is that you normally read about stuff like this in the paper or on the news and it’s with people whom you don’t know, but this is hitting home (minus the close to).
I remember when we will were …
