Ballet For Children in Hong Kong (Finale)
And so ends the summer ballet season for toddlers. Vanessa’s first summer program came to a fantastic end last Thursday when the class showed off their dancing skills to their parents and grandparents. The entire class of 15 girls did a mini tribute to end their season with twirling, swirling and toe-touching feats. The girls are so cute in their pink tutus (I think the costume is more a gimmick for the parents to take pictures and gawk at how cute their children are than for the sake of dancing) and ended the day with photos with their teacher and friends.
The class Vanessa attended, designed for toddlers aged 3-4 is a real introduction to movement and music. It’s not really about ballet, but getting them to understand the concepts of rhythm and moving your bodies. They do promote stretching and sitting straight (not like an old lady the teacher would chime) and will always reward their little students with a candy at the end of the class for their participation. The candy is the highlight of the class for Vanessa because I don’t often give her sweet treats and she comes home smiling.
Enclosed are some photos to close the season. I am not sure if she will continue next year, but I leave this to her.
Vanessa is all smiles before her class!

Ring-Around-The-Rosie! Lots of interaction with other kids.

This reminded me so much of a pin-up! Good times!

They’re so cute just standing around!

Yah, kids are way more flexible than adults… wish I were this flexible now…

Vanessa just “monkeying” around!
