Stanford Swimming School Hong Kong

So I went on spy mode and took some candid illegal shots with my iPhone.  Yah, maybe I shouldn’t be posting them online, but I took the pictures by accident because they sure do look fuzzy, off center and not very clear.  This is Vanessa in the pool with her instructor.  She’s the little dot in the middle swimming with the red noodle.

If you’re not clear on what I’m talking about, read my original post on “Stanford Swimming School: Korean International School Review“.  I think the private lessons are great!  She’s enjoying her classes very much, but has hesitations on putting her face in the water.  She tells her teacher that she isn’t allowed to wet her hair because her mom and grandma won’t let her! HAHA - so we verify with the teacher that it’s OK and just to dunk her.  But he’s taking the slow approach with teaching her to blow bubbles and holding her breath as he pours water over her face.  It’s an interesting way to teach kids the true basics of swimming (which isn’t only technique - but the basics of holding your breath).  Yah, some kids will do it automatically, but some just have an inane fear of water going up their nose.  I must have done something to traumatize her when she was younger…. *thinking*…. *thinking*…. hmm, nothing comes to mind.

Anyways - the swimming classes are good when it’s not crowded.  But I know during weekends and peak hours, it can get crazy and everyone is like sardines (literally) in the pool.  The goods and bads of city life.  Don’t get me started on this topic…
