Lack of Inactivity

I am apologizing for my recent lull and inactivity. This is because I am hard at work on “Hacking my Moleskine” - which is a personal pet project that I voluntarily signed up for just for fun. It was a local competition and I figured I could spare some time out of my blogging activities to do it - so I did. Truth be told, I didn’t expect to have my submission accepted, but it was and now I’m “stuck” with it. I don’t mind. It’s been fun and completely off-the-wall. In fact, my theory on good artists’ is that the “art” just comes to them and they are inspired. My approach (because of my engineering background) is more planning. I just have to plan everything - even my art (which is usually based on scientific calculations and methods). This is why this project is taking so long.
On top of that - I had to redo some pieces because of failed attempts at certain features and lucky for me, my “crazy” glue isn’t quite as crazy as I thought and didn’t render my modifications permanent. I’m sorry that I can’t put up pictures of my progress - just like any real designer, the ideas can’t be publicized until the final product. I have, however, graced my blog with photos of some of the mats (only to realize that it didn’t contain all my mats, like the crazy glue and scissors). Regardless, here’s a beginning to a great end (my heaps and heaps and heaps of moleskines). If I don’t end up being buried in moleskines, well, at least the experience was fun and I have some bragging rights.
Wish me luck and I will definitely make a post of how I hacked my moleskine (step-by-step) after submission. And in support of my crazy idea and wacked out usage of time, please go to CitySuper at Times Square (in Hong Kong) from July 15th - 30th and vote for my submission. Thank you thank you thank you.

It’s a competition - I’ve put the time from blogging to this project (For now). I really wanna win a lifetime of moleskines - so that’s what everyone is getting on their birthdays!
