Another good write up from Guy Kawasaki. If you run a blog or website, this tool that he talks about is a must use. Even though I am a fan of open source and virtually leave all my stuff up for everyone to read, copy, laugh at, it doesn’t really bother me that much. I just like that I am providing information and people find it useful and I can make some spending money in the process. The true step would be to publish a book. That is not something …

I’m running out of breakfast ideas. The problem is that we usually eat oatmeal on most days. It’s healthy, it’s versitile, it’s easy to make and it’s relatively non-parishable in this wet HK environment. The problem with some google searched sites with the keywords “Breakfast Ideas for Kids” will bring up a lot of results; however a majority of these recipe ideas seem to involve lots of sugars (and/or calories) - pancakes, waffles, glazed bananas - why can’t you just give your children regular bananas without the added sugar? Does this …

Many of you know I love to write. Yes, I probably have a load of grammatical errors and I know I have spelling mistakes (because my regular readers tell me - thanks proofreaders!). Anyways, one new venture that I am getting into now is being a published author with other sites.
My focus mainly now is on topics that I am working on. One is the infamous “change” that I have mentioned so often in posts and the other is Project Management. Well, I am now officially published with other sites. …

I am a big Science fan. This means that I embrace all things Science-related. It can be from “why why why” to the “how how how” of the world around us. This is why I love Discovery and National Geographics so much. How the world exists today, how it came to be and how humans have used their brains to further themselves in discovery, building and technology.
The other day, my daughter was playing with a compass. She went to ask me what it was and why the arrow moved. So …

The basics of communication is a two-way street with varying forms of transmitting and receiving devices. This is the technical terms for it, however, you also have to consider the openness of the devices, the clarity of the message, and various forms of encoding and decoding.

If I’m with my husband and feel like a latte or tea while passing by a coffee shop, I will ask him, “Do you want a coffee?”. If he says “No thanks” - We may not get the coffee. Why? Because men often think in terms of …

Foreword: This is a guest post which is a new thing that I am trying. I love children myself and actually miss being pregnant. Although not enough to have more children at the current time, but it’s nice to reminisce. ~Lisa.
Pregnancy is wonderful
Being a mother isn’t something that I had ever really given any thought. I didn’t have plans to have children and I never really felt maternal in any real way. I have had numerous friends throughout my life that had children, and adore them all. It wasn’t that …

Update on May 9, 2009: SUCCESS! The migration turned out to be a breeze. The configuration turned out to be far easier than I had expected and the only hiccup that I really had was a mismatch of files across the two servers (thus a broken link for one day). This is the beauty of wordpress. And quite truthfully, that is how all migration projects should function. Plug and play. Why does software have to be that difficult? OK OK, I will save my rant of difficult software for another …

A colleague (who happens to be a rss feed manic far worse than I am) shared a blog with me recently: How to Change The World by Guy Kawasaki. His blog is very cool and his writes are even cooler. He also had Audi swing by his house test drive (and the blog about) the R8!! WHAT?! I wish I would get that kind of product review instead of some rinky dink home products (although not complaining that I do get product review requests).
Anyways, I’m actually pointing to an interesting …

This is the ultimate product for eliminating nail biting activities. In fact, it can also be used for other things like eliminating the pacifier or thumb. Warning: It’s extremely bitter and tastes disgusting. I’m sure there are other products similar to this, but for both Vanessa and Natalie, it has been effective for a variety of “unique” habits.
Vanessa is the ultimate nail biter. I don’t know why children do it, it might be a fun habit to keep them busy - but I haven’t been as firm in using this …
