A friend pass this article to me and it’s actually a very good read. You should read it. It talks about using a marshmellow resistance test on children and then co-relates it to adulthood behaviour and achievements. My sister and I were talking about trying this experiment on our children - however I believe that i these conditions Vanessa is able to resisit and self-distract. It’s easy to rationalize with her (more so than Victoria - although Victoria is starting to understand the concept of being “naughty”). It’s very interesting - both the article and how children develop reasoning abilities.

This seems to imply that “self-control” is a better predictor of success over IQ
That’s interesting! Although, self-control can be taught, which probably means someone with higher IQ can figure out more ways to control themselves (for example, the kids distracting themselves). Overall, I really liked this article! Glad you likes!
