Digital Post-Its
I love digital post-its. While searching for the perfect digital post-its, I came across the one, the original - 3M post-its. They are great because there are a host of functions available for the simple post-it.
- Change colours
- Change fonts
- Use numbers and bullets
- Use cork boards for different categories
- Hot keys for quick display
While there are a host of digital post-its available (even ones for free), none of them quite compare to 3M’s Post-It Digital Notes. I really needed a desktop solution at work because I manage at least 10 different projects and at least 100 tidbit of information flows in and out of my office daily. It’s incredible how many things I have to remember, but yet try not to commit to memory because even that will fail me at times. Some productivity tools that I’m using are moleskines, my iPhone, most (if not all) the functions available in Lotus Notes, various Excel files to manage action items, and my trust digital post-it notes.
The 3M digital notes are available for a 30 day trial, so you can really test drive its functionality and usability. I literally plowed through the 30 days and found that it stopped working on me and purchased a license totaling at $19.99 USD. Not too shabby for a life-long productivity tool. And you know I’m a supporter of pay-for-software, because there are developers who have worked hard and long to launch that product. Open source is even better!
Anyways, you should check it out yourself. I use it at home and work now and find it helps keep me organized and sane because quite honestly, I probably spend more time in front of the computer than I do anything else (sad as it sounds). Which reminds me, I should enforce myself to start stretching at work because of the duration I spend sitting. Such is the life of the average office worker.
