After my luncheon at AMCHAM with Matt Mullenweg, he made a mention of using Google Reader and because I only use email subscriptions for reads (which can sometimes get annoying because they are in you inbox whether you want it to be or not - unless you set up rules), I decided to go and try Google Reader. (Sorry about the resolution of the photo, didn’t realize it was so retarded looking since I just uploaded it directly to my site).

After about 2 weeks of using this.  I LOVE IT!   …

WHAT IS THIS?

OK, as interesting as this photo looks, what on earth is it?  There are only 3 people that played witness to the development of this “thing”.  And when I say development, they weren’t originally in this form.
Do you know what it is?

WOW, what a neat idea!   Why do we even need 10 slots for cards in our wallets?  Well, aside from your ID (or Driver’s License), one credit or two credit cards (for most people), one bank card and one health card (or health insurance card) - that only makes 5 at the most.
One problem with the “personalization” age is that every store and organization wants you to feel “special”.  While the most cost effective and flexible way to achieve this is through the distribution of VIP or membership cards, the …

The Little Big Club: Live in Hong Kong

I’ve been to concerts before, but not children’s concerts.  In fact, I really didn’t know what to expect, except for some singing and dancing and Vanessa jumping up and down like a crazy kid on a sugar high screaming at Barney.  As it turns out - Vanessa was a very demure and quiet child.  She sat in our laps the whole time, just staring at the stage, and clapped only at her favourite songs.
For $495 HKD a ticket - we got relatively good seats.  Although we weren’t sitting at …

Induction: Logic

I know I have been short and slow on getting my momics out, but this is how it is with executing something that requires a little extended usage of my RAM and minimal allotment of time.  The problem really is that I can only do things in bursts of time, like the 5 minutes I have while my daughter is tearing down the house when I get home, or the 10 minutes I have while she’s finishing an episode of Dora I put on so I could put down Victoria, …

When you stop feeling challenged - maybe it’s time for an attitude change?  There are people who like to sit at a certain level (be it their job, career, personal development, relationship depth, shoe collection size, style, whatever) and there are people who continually push for more.  Sometimes the push is subconscious, because these are the people with FIRE (as my boss likes to say) and PASSION (as my sister likes to say) and DRIVE (as I like to say).  Sometimes the push is from a superior and/or external source …

Are you sad?  Are you feeling down?  Well, most people I show this video to end up cracking a smile or laughing out loud.  It is rather funny and children will be children.  I was originally not going to put this up on my blog, but it is just too funny to ignore.  It is these moments that I try to capture of my children - no matter how silly, how sad, how funny - I capture it all.  I mean, it is digital media afterall and if they get …

Thank you Tray for the photos (taken on an iPhone).  Yesterday’s luncheon hosted by AMCHAM in Hong Kong proved to be an eventful, successful, interesting, and slightly embarrassing gathering.  Matt is really a candid speaker who has pretty strong stances on open source platforms and software and is pretty anti-microsoft.  Then again, most developers who walk around with MACs or veto open source usually are.  He is passionate about his work, passionate about connecting people, passionate about technology and the types of projects that he’s involved in - are fascinating.  …

lisatong.com Interview on TBackBra.com

So, as part of the blooming publicity that comes with blogging, Ashley Jones of T Back Bra found me and wanted to feature lisatong.com on her blog.  Thanks Ashley for the vote of confidence and support in blogging.

It’s nice that bloggers can connect and share with each other.  I don’t think we should limit ourselves to content, but rather real life specimens which can be of interest to our readers.  I will mimic Ashley’s approach and find some likely candidates to interview and feature myself.  But just as an FYI, …

I love GMail.  I use it everyday and it’s actually my primary email address.  The features are great and it’s extremely easy to find, organize and manage my massive amounts of mail.   Well, not that massive - but a sufficient amount.  GMail does a fabulous job of tackling junk mail, so I virtually get no SPAM in my inbox.
There are suggestions however, for effective handling custom messages.  Here is Google’s solution to that suggestion.
Check it out:  Google’s Auto-Pilot Email System
HAHAHA.
