The Do-It-Yourself Bra Fitting Guide & Beyond

If your bra is riding up your back, the straps are biting into you, the wires are extremely noticeable or you’re super conscious of your bra, chances are that you’re wearing the wrong size!

Due to fluctuations in weight, pregnancies, whatever, you should be re-checking that your bra fits every 6 months.  And the math is that 85% of women aren’t wearing the correct bra size!  YIKES.  To elaborate, bra fitting isn’t a mathematical formula.  And because of variances in the industry, companies don’t always follow standardized methods of creating bras.  Sales people who assist you by measuring you, rather than “seeing” the bra on you and “feeling” for extra space or too tight spots aren’t doing it correctly and are only going by books to see what’s best for you.  You should try to find sales ladies who take the time to examine bra fittings and give several variances on bust and cup sizes for you to find the perfect fit.

Don’t forget that the differences in locales always impact how people measure busts and cup sizes.  For example, in Asia, you’ll find that the cup sizes are usually smaller than Western sizes – so an A cup is not an A cup there.  As well, it’s mentioned that the bra straps are not meant to support your bra, the band is.  So if you’re relying on your straps to hold up your breasts, then you’ve got it all wrong.

Come to think of it, some of my bras are not completely comfortable, so maybe it is time to get new bras!!  LOL, another excuse to spend money, but this is a necessity – unlike a $6000 Iphone? :P

Check it out – the site actually very informative and a pretty good read.  And to think, it’s only a bra!  But it’s important because you are wearing this thing at 12 hours a day for the rest of your life!
