Holy craps - you have to check this out! This guy, Williams Shamir is an artist and musician who does digital pictures with Photoshop CS3 and a tablet. It’s incredible how precise and beautiful his work is - especially done digitally. I could never do anything like this free-hand, much less digitally!! I was really impressed and touched by his work.
Check out his YouTube Profile: http://www.youtube.com/user/WilliamsShamir
I’m now a regular subscriber to his YouTube feeds! The things you find on the internet these days! WOW.

This is a question I am asking myself. It’s also a big topic of discussion at work and amongst friends with children. I wasn’t in Hong Kong at the time of SARs, but I was in Toronto and on one particular weekend (when the first outbreak was detected) and I remember the Chinese malls being literally void of human presence.
But things are different now. I have 2 young children who are considered high risk during flu season, nevermind the fact that there exists contagious drug resistant strains of the flu …

Most Chinese people are rather reserved - especially when it comes to children stepping in water puddles. Well, quite frankly, I am not and I give my daughter free reign on where she steps. Of course, I’m not talking about a puddle one foot deep (although there rarely are).
Here’s how it plays out on most rainy days. I let Vanessa wear her Thomas The Train rain boots and then I pretty much let her run around and splash where she likes. The reactions? HAHA… here’s the kicker. Most people …

My parents have a story of a friend (a father) who was responsible for feeding his baby boy dinner one day. The instructions were to pull out the baby food from the fridge, reheat the bowl and simply feed it to the child. As it turns out, this child is extremely difficult to feed. He refused to eat and so the father, quite forcefully, made his child eat the entire bowl. Minutes after consuming his meal, the child became violently ill and spewed his guts (and more) and was admitted …

While I don’t particularly like to promote vulgarity, my sister passed on this funny site that is a quick read and funny at the same time. It showcases the messed up moments in our lives and you get to rate whether they deserved it or their life really is that messed up.
If you have some time and ready for some laughs, check it out. Although some are so ridiculous, you almost think that they are made up. Good times.

I’m very flattered by the amount of inquiries and comments I’m getting on my previous article “How to Hire a Domestic Helper in Hong Kong“. I’m also glad that I am able to provide assistance where I can in an area where there isn’t much public information on the whole picture in English.
As an aside, I’ve been getting many questions about “How I Trained My Domestic Helper”. I do mention that I (or other parties, like my mother and mother-in-law) helped in training her. It’s nothing like a formal program, …

CHANEL launched their No.5 teaser today. I’m not a big fan of the perfume itself, although their eau de toilette version is much nicer. Check out the teaser - don’t ask me what it’s about. I don’t have a clue either - that’s because it’s a teaser, you’ll find out May 5 (or at least that’s what the site says). Cool!

Since I’m on the topic of strollers (see my rant on Strollers / Prams and HK Taxis), I made a reminder to myself that I needed to share my story about the Chicco Cortina / Extreme Stroller.
In general, I am a big fan of Maclaren strollers. However, since the birth of baby #2, we needed something a little more versitile and after walking through Chicco in Hong Kong - we are regular shoppers at Chicco and own most of their basic pieces (crib, travel cot, newborn stroller - which I …

Should prams/strollers be categorized under the “no-charge” fare for Taxis in Hong Kong? YOU BET!
I sometimes do get charged for putting my stroller in the trunk of taxis. For a $18 HKD cab fare, they will charge me $5 HKD. Unbelievable! That is 22% of the total cost of travel - which is absurb. My sister recently got charged for putting her stroller in the back of the taxi as well and you know me and my family (if you follow our blogs) - we are rather outspoken and verbal …

I am always about change. Ironically enough, change management is one of my key focus at work right now - so what better time to bring about change? When I was younger, I would rearrange my room at least once every year. It’s the excitement of having newness that makes life interesting. I don’t change everything. I mean, I don’t have my husband on rotation or my children, but things that spice up life - do just that. I have actually been looking for a magazine type blog layout for …
