Why this sudden urge to buy a high-powered, high-end vacuum cleaner? Well, it all started with a visit from a “Rainbow” vacuum representative. A friend had referred us to see their in-home demo and so because part of the demo included a mattress cleaning, we figured it would be worth it check it out. The Rainbow Cleaning System is truly cool. When the rep showed us the amount of “stuff” (dead skin cells, bed bugs, bed bug droppings, hair, dirt, dust) that came out of our mattress, it scared us. …

I came across this super cool piece on people.com while doing some surfing this weekend.
It’s a 5-minute video of the funny things said on talk shows this week. It’s quick, pretty funny and diversified. I expect Ellen to make this list every week, I truly love what she does on her shows and they are pretty funny.
Check it out if you have some time: “They Said What?”

I know of an organization who has lost its home. This organization is good and whole and its mission and vision are strong and meaningful. They work on projects that don’t make headlines and don’t generate revenue for shareholders. In fact, the shareholders are the people who benefit from their services the most - the children and youth of Hong Kong. They run programs for youth teaching them about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and ethics to name a few, but all with very strong messages and a positive impact to those …

HELP!! I’m looking for a fashionable IPhone wallet or purse. Most of the products available today are literally, IPhone wallets that are UGLY and FUNCTIONAL. Well, why can’t stuff for geeks be fashionable too? Hmm, makes you think maybe there is a market for this. Anyways, if anyone comes across one, can you please pass it along? My only option right now is to check out the Coach Wristlets - which I have yet to do, but I’m having high hopes that they will fit my IPhone. The problem is …

In yesterday’s Standard, “Toddler dies in yacht accident” is one of the key stories on the front page. It saddens me to know that this could have been prevented. Yes, there are freak accidents, but in this story, I lean towards blaming both the parents and the domestic helper for causing this boy’s death.
The story is that an 18-month year old boy and his domestic helper were on this yacht. The domestic helper leaves the boy to go make lunch and when she hears nothing, returns to find the boy strangling from …

Wow, the founder of WordPress is coming to Hong Kong and speaking at a Luncheon! WordPress is a free state-of-the-art platform used for blogging. It’s actually the foundation of my blog as well.
Currently there are over 13 million registered users world wide and to actually have a chance to meet one of the coolest Silicon Valley stories is a once in a lifetime chance! He’s a typical dot com profile where he is a college drop out and started this online platform by hashing it out in his mother’s kitchen. …

You see, I wish I had the capacity to take my photos to this level, but it will take an investment in hardware and skills. Let me think about it. But WOW. Took my breath away.

It’s common knowledge that children below the age of 3 should avoid peanuts. The reason being is that this early exposure to peanuts and other nuts can cause allergies as they develop - especially if anyone in the family has allergies to (pea)nuts. It is also recommended for mothers to avoid peanuts during their pregnancy and during breastfeeding if you want to be extra cautious in these areas. But as I look around at the people in Asia, peanuts (including peanut oil) is a common food and children of all …

As I was getting changed this morning, I hear Vanessa screaming “HELP ME MOMMY!” I run out to see this. I was initially shocked and scared because she may potentially be hurt. But then, as I see her wiggling and screaming some more, I figure she was OK had to take this photo. It’s a parent’s duty to capture these priceless moments. Needless to say that Vanessa was sitting in her baby sister’s high chair, without the safety buckles. I figured that the tray would keep her in, but I …
