My New *PINK* Sony VAIO
This is the 4th time that I’ve put my laptop in my suitcase, only to turn it on when I arrived back in Hong Kong to find that the back light had been shot. I can still use it, but I can barely see and need to look at it from an angle with the correct lighting - which is still a good because my data is accessible. The laptop was only 3 years old! I hope to run more mileage out of these things. Anyways, after consulting SONY in HK, they estimated a repair cost of $1800 HKD (!? Might as well buy a new one). So I bought a new one!
I’m pretty shocked at myself for choosing an ALL PINK laptop, but truth be told, it looks HOT. It’s sleek and powerful (compared to what I was using before) and it’s completely eye-catching and does not speak Lisa. Check out some shots of it below:
So let me tell you about this Sony VAIO CS series laptop.
- It’s completely pink, even the keyboard (and I’m getting a bluetooth PINK mouse that matches to boot)
- The keyboard types really nice - each key is rounded and perfect perfect perfect
- It’s decked with 4 GB of DDR2 RAM (can’t go any faster than that)
- It’s running a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor at P8400 (which is 2.26 GHz)
- It’s got off board GForce Video Card (if I rethink about installing World of Warcraft again)
- I’m going to use ALL 250 GB hard drive of space just because I have it
- Built in camera and microphone for communicating with the parents and friends back in TO
- Total cost of just above $10,000 HKD - not bad considering the specs
- Free PINK blue tooth mouse
- Free carrying case
- Local warranty of 1 year
- Free extended warranty of 3 months (still better than nothing)
So if you’re in the market for a new laptop - consider the CS series - it comes in White, Black, Sports Car Red, Fabulous Pink and a special edition Brown (I think). But, I would suggest getting it at the Sony Store itself, or you don’t get all the freebies.
This is why I’ve been off line for so long (yes, a whole 2 days, but it seemed like an eternity). It’s because I was without the hardware - but now I’m back and decked in pink and loving it.

I LOVE THIS PINK SONY VAIO CS tooooo…
for the previous 1…it did not attract me dat much…coz i do not really like the silver(or is it white) keyboard keys..
but this !!!..keyboard keys in pink too….
anyway, first time here ^^..
It’s great, I love how the keys feel
It’s been 3 days… I think you need to create a new post. I need new reading material, thanks!
Hey I’m about to buy the Sony CS but I’m really worried about the famous horror sound the fan makes..Does yours make that sound? Like everytime the fan turns on and off it makes this tiny motor sound or even a clicking? Thanks for the input hopefully! ‘Cause I really love the look and specs and SONY but I’m wondering if other people are easily annoyed by small sounds? Thank you! =] Hope to get the CS in like a month or two!
My old sony used to make a whrrring sound. I have gone through about 4 different VAIOs in the past 5 years and only that one made a sound. This new CS one doesn’t make that sound and it’s wonderful! It’s very quiet and the fan is on the left hand side, so for those of us who are right hand users and need a mouse on the right hand side, it’s perfect and doesn’t burn your hand!
I love the keyboard, I love how it types, I love the screen and I especially love the colour. A truly satisfied and happy customer!!
today is my birthayyy and my gift is this cute pink vaio, I love itttttttttttt
from my pink vaio
What is the style number of the pink vaio where the keyboard is pink too?
Christine, the style that I bought is a VAIO VGN-CS16G. Hope this helps. Lisa
Well I just talked with the CS and I looked it up with the forums. The new CS has the updated replacement part for the fan. In the forums, people say that this fan fixed this problem so it shouldn’t be a problem. Lisa would you happen to be having any problems with your vaio? I’m thinking of buying one and I’d like to make sure that this model doesn’t have any problems. Thanks.
Leslie - with this model, the fan is on the left hand side towards the back side of the machine, so it doesn’t interfere with right-handed mouse usage and there is virtually no noise on this model. It was with my previous model that the fan was on the right-hand side and got quite hot and annoying while using the mouse at the same time. I can tell you that I am VERY happy with this model - VGN-CS16G. The specifications are perfect, it’s got enough juice to run Vista (4 GB of RAM), the keyboard is great to use and the size is acceptable. It’s not really meant as a travel size laptop, but it is great for home use. Highly recommended and of course, love the pink details. Lisa
I just ordered the pink sony cs nd im very concerned about the fan noise. Many people have said its very loud. Im wondering if you are experiencing anything with the fan and how long have you had it? I hope my cs doesnt have any problems!!
Cindy, I have NO problems with my current Sony VAIO with regards to the fan. Having used it for about 6+ months, it’s been fabulous to me and I love it! But since you’ve just ordered yours, it should still be covered under warranty, which is good - because you send it back to them until they get it right (although troublesome).
Thank you! Hopefully the sony vaio i ordered is going to come this friday. I cant wait!!:)
I will be buying laptop too. Choices are vaio cs pink and toshiba l350 satellite. I just can’t decide which of the two. Help me guys.
