Eyebrow Shaping

23 November 2008 847 views 2 Comments

I recently went to Shu Umera (a few days before I flew) to get their “Tokyo Eyebrow Shaping Service”.

My brows were an unholy mess.  Naturally, they are shaped like nice brows should be, but they have outgrown in length and were shaggy as an overgrown weed garden.

The brow shaping server was fabulous.  It is a 20 minute sensual experience where the make up experts will cut, tweeze, shape and redefine the feature that so many people neglect.

A nicely shaped brow should open up your face, draw focus to your eyes (if you’re going for the natural look) and be proportioned so that it’s in vertical alignment with the starting point of your eye and ending perfectly arched through to your face.  Here are a few links that I found about eyebrow shaping.  Professionally, I haven’t done anyone’s eyebrows for awhile and sometimes, to have the reverse service done on you is nice.

Shaping is important that it compliments your face.  The first site, (from bbc.com) is very good in demonstrating what the shape should be.  Each person’s face is different, so each eyebrow is different (even on the same face).

Wow, those are some nice brows! You got that done at Shu Umera? How much did it cost?

Yep, shaping is super important. I know I look tons better than I used to because of it.

[...] Your eyebrows are an integral part of your face.? If you keep them clean and well shaped, it will open up your face and of course look better.? I got mine shaped from Shu Uemera (cost $250 HKD) about 1 month ago.? The process takes about 10-15 minutes and since then, I’ve only tweezed a few strays here and there to keep it up.? You probably won’t need to have them re-shaped unless you really neglect them.? See my brows here. [...]
